The Southern Maine Coast boasts miles of
sandy beaches and coastline. It is home to one of Maine's fastest
growing counties,
York.
Lying on the New Hampshire border, York county is seeing a great
migration of tourists and new residents from other New England states.
New census figures reveal that the population growth rate in York
county is more than three times Maine's overall growth rate. It
also is home to some of the wealthiest communities in the state.

There is a unique combination of towns in the Southern Coast. From
quaint coastal towns to bustling recreational towns, making York a diverse coastal region.
Perhaps most famously, York is home to Kennebunkport, the summer residence of
former president George Bush. It is also home to Old Orchard Beach, whose miles of sandy beaches
attract thousands of tourists in the summer. Much of this community,
with it's boardwalk atmosphere and it's small amusement park, shuts
up tightly in the off-season.
